Quick Lesson: Inflation & Interest Rates
By Pehon | July 17, 2007
Inflation and interest rates. The 2 seem to have been plaguing the US market over the last few months. And its having an effect on the world.
In fact, since 1948, the US economy has been looking at inflations for every single year, except for 2 years (1949 & 1955) (source miseryindex.us)
So what really is inflation and how does it affect your investment and money supply? And how does raising interest rate actually fix inflation problems?

Discussion: What is the market direction from here?
By Pehon | July 16, 2007
With the Dow Jones testing the 14000 levels today, I’m seeing financial news host mock analysts who insist the great correction is going to happen soon.
But just 1 month back, analysts were all agreeing on the almost certain upcoming correction. It hasn’t happened. Analysts are divided. So what do you think?
I’ve started a discussion over at my forum. Lets share what we think about what’s the market direction from here!

Review: Tech Oil & Gas
By Pehon | July 15, 2007
Tech Oil & Gas was practically a non-mover since I made the buy call some months back.
I was almost on the verge of pulling the plugs out of Tech Oil & Gas until they started making deals quietly.

Review: Breadtalk
By Pehon | July 15, 2007
Breadtalk, “We make your day”. Really. Just 28 days after my “Buy” recommendation at $5.05, Breadtalk has made another historical high of $0.62.
And since the day I made the recommendation, the company has made 4 announcements of investments, mainly in companies based in China.
Congrats to those who have listened to my recommendation on the “buy” on Breadtalk.

Review: Sino-Env
By Pehon | July 15, 2007
We have seen the greatest fall in Sino-Env’s stock price since its IPO. According to the board, it was an error trade that caused the single largest drop, trading at $2.4 on the 5th.
If what they said about the “error trade” was true, we are probably looking at a technical weakness, that once investors come to their senses, we might just see the stock price return to above its previous high.
But what are the signs telling us?

Review: Sino-Env
By Pehon | July 10, 2007
What a spectacular day for my new recommendation (Breadtalk), but what a bad day for one of my long time favourite, Sino-Env. In fact, Sino-Env was weighing down on the STI in a day of bullish trading.
We saw a one day drop from $3.06 yesterday to the current day low of $2.74. It was enough for the board to publish the following press release.
Sino-Env’s Board Clarification
The board has reassured all investors that fundamentals are still sound. And I do agree with the board. Financial performance for the last quarter was not neccessary bad. So what may be happening here?

The week ahead
By Pehon | July 8, 2007
We’re coming up to the 2nd trading week for July, and the long awaited correction that was supposed to happen doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon.
Positive economic data just keeps coming out of Wall Street, and now everybody believes rates are going to stay at current levels.
If the trend we are seeing so far is anything to go by, we could be looking at another very good for the bulls.
A new report on Swiber was recently released. Will post a review on that soon!
Happy trading!
