    The Falling Market

    Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

The current market thrend is making people like me look stupid. Extremely stupid.
Here I am preaching investment for the long term.
It was just yesterday that I recommended readers to buy shares they have been eyeing for a long time, while they have a relatively cheap valuation.
So what now. I’ve no change in my recommendations. if […]

What are the current risks in the market?

    Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Over the last few months, we have seen the market being haunted by global threats to the equity market.
From time and time again, stock markets have corrected from some time to another due to these reasons.
But what are they and how do they affect the stock market?

With the US market looking for a firm opening today after positive earning report and positive economic reports, it looks like the worst is over.

The STI closed down 2.4% on Friday, after the synchronised sell off by Dow Jones on Thursday night (Singapore).
And the worst is probably not over. The Dow fell 1.54% and the S&P fell 1.6% on Friday night as Singaporeans were partying away.
What should we expect from here. What can we do from here?

    US Market Morning Note

    Thursday, July 26th, 2007

As the Singapore, and global market seem to be mimicking what ever the US market is doing, here is a low down on earning reports overnight.
Overnight, futures fell on concerns about the housing situation in USA. The market is awaiting home sales figures for June at 10pm Singapore time and they are expected to see […]

    Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

I’ve extracted an article from the Business Times - 24 July 2007, as i believe what has happened to China on the 23 July 2007 is a good example to the rest of the world.
Right now, the world market is worried with the American’s Subprime and inflation problems. However despite the constant worry, we see […]

    The week ahead

    Sunday, July 8th, 2007

We’re coming up to the 2nd trading week for July, and the long awaited correction that was supposed to happen doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon.
Positive economic data just keeps coming out of Wall Street, and now everybody believes rates are going to stay at current levels.
If the trend we are seeing so far […]
